WADEVILLE SONG by Lee Scarlett © March 2006 A few years back, I needed a change So I moved from the coast out here to the range Away from place where the sprawl's spreading still And plonked myself down here at Wadeville.
Those long summer days aren't too bad at all We get cooled by the breezes blowin' up from Fingal And as the sun sets through forested hills We sink a few cold ones out here at Wadeville
REFRAIN: There's hippies and cockies and the odd tree change Living out life by the great Border Range In their own patch out here in the hills They're a real friendly bunch out here at Wadeville
Those white misty mornings are a sight to behold Each July daybreak just a hint of the cold And those October Sunsets sill give me a thrill Yeah ---------------------------------------------------- It's Nature performing out here at Wadeville
{refrain}
But I'll share with you what I love the best It's the space all around, the room for the rest There's wallabies and Joe Blakes and dingos roam still Yeah ---------------------------------------------------- You can still touch the wild out here at Wadeville
{refrain} Yeah ---------------------------------------------------- You can still touch the wild out here at Wadeville |
